The Epworth Skate Park is now open.
The newly renovated facility is located in the parking lot of the United Methodist Church on Holland Road.
It’s a free-access park where you skate at your own risk but there are 24-hour video surveillance cameras.
The community raised $80-thousand for the renovation.
Yesterday’s opening also came with a little sadness.
Matt Haley died last week in a motorcycle accident last week.
But his Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen was at Sunday’s event.
Jim Affeldt is Director of Operations for his company and said that Haley would have been adamant they attend.
The truck donated all of its proceeds back to the skate park.
