ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Republican David Craig has officially announced that Del. Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio will be his running mate in his bid for governor.

Haddaway-Riccio said Tuesday at a news conference in Annapolis that she has spent almost a decade as an Eastern Shore lawmaker fighting for lower taxes and a better business climate. She says she has also worked for a greater balance between environmental interests and the interests of agriculture and commercial fishing.

Haddaway-Riccio, who is 36, has been a member of the House of Delegates since she was appointed to the seat in 2003. She won re-election in 2006 and 2010.

She has served on the House Economic Matters Committee. Her district includes Talbot County, as well as parts of Caroline, Dorchester and Wicomico counties on the Eastern Shore.
