Driver Involved in Hit-And-Run Bicycle Crash Identified

caltechbikelab blog

SEAFORD, Del. (AP) - Troopers in Delaware say they have identified the driver who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 17-year-old boy.

Police say that a 26-year-old Easton man contacted investigators, telling them he had been driving during the Thursday crash. No charges have been filed.

The teenager is still hospitalized and, as of late Monday, is listed in critical condition.

The crash happened when the victim was riding his bicycle southbound on Woodpecker Road and was struck from behind by a pickup truck. The victim was ejected from the bike and into a cornfield just off the roadway.

The boy was apparently left there alone, until a passerby saw a bicycle tire and shoe in the roadway and stopped to check the area.
