Delmarva Hunkers Down For Heat Wave

It’s hot.

Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees today with the heat index hitting 109 through this evening.

There’s only a 20 percent chance of some rain and thunderstorms.

A heat advisory will go into effect by noon today and run through 7 pm tonight.

Hospitals are expected to stay busy as victims of the heat wave seek help for such illnesses such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat rash.

Local officials are recommending that people stay in-doors with air conditioning.

Check for cooling stations at your local libraries.

It’s also recommended to drink plenty of water and avoid outdoor activity.
