NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware National Guard officials are preparing to welcome home members of an aviation battalion following their 10-month deployment to Kuwait.
Some 70 members of 238th General Support Aviation Battalion are scheduled to arrive in New Castle Saturday morning.
The battalion performs command, control and communications flights and air movement operations. While deployed, its primary mission was to perform air movement operations, primarily the movement of troops.
The soldiers recently returned to Fort Hood, Texas, in three phases and have spent the past several days going through the demobilization process.
