PASADENA, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County police say a lawmaker who recently pleaded guilty to a drunken boating charge has been charged with driving while impaired.
Police say an officer stopped Del. Don Dwyer's car early Tuesday in Pasadena because he was driving erratically and the officer noticed the odor of alcohol. A police report states that Dwyer identified himself to the officer as a member of the House of Delegates and said he had two beers earlier and was coming from a Baltimore tavern.
Police say the Anne Arundel County Republican was taken into custody after he failed sobriety tests and later refused a breath test.
Dwyer was charged with driving while impaired and other traffic violations. Dwyer and his attorney in the previous case did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
