HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - The Maryland medical examiner's office says a Hagerstown woman and her two young daughters found dead in a stifling car died from accidental heatstroke.
Spokesman Bruce Goldfarb said Tuesday that the formal cause of death was hyperthermia and environmental heat exposure.
Thirty-two-year-old Allison Pluck was found dead in her closed but unlocked car in a local middle-school parking lot June 16 along with the bodies of 18-month-old Shania Gill and 6-month-old Shameka Gill. Outdoor temperatures peaked near 90 degrees that day.
Police have said they don't know why Pluck went to the school and parked there for hours in the blazing heat.
