Coalition Gathers to Plan Arts Center in Salisbury

all-free-download.com

There will be an Arts Roundtable meeting this Wednesday in Salisbury to build and develop a new visual and performing arts center.

Executive Director Therese Hamilton told the Salisbury Daily Times that such a center could be located in the downtown area as part of a revitalization effort in that part of the city.

She noted that many nonprofit arts groups are now competing for space at high school auditoriums with all their logistical and financial challenges.

This week’s event will identify organizations and individuals who are interested in donating their time and money coming up with fundraising ideas as well as seeking support from city and county governments.

The meeting will be held at Evolution Public House in Salisbury beginning at 5:30 pm.

The restaurant will be donating 10 percent of all profits between 4 pm and midnight towards the proposed center.
