Delaware education officials have released their new rules to impose more accountability on the state’s charter schools.
The new frame work includes criteria ranging from financial issues to credentialing requirements for staff.
In addition, they measure academic performance through – what is called – growth to proficiency that has never been used in Delaware public schools.
It is aimed at evaluating whether students are making sufficient academic progress within a 3 year period.
The state board of Education is expected to approve the new rules.
