NEWARK, Del. (AP) - New Castle County police are citing inattentive driving for a car crash that caused a fire that damaged four town homes, displaced three families and sent one person to the hospital.

Police say 67-year-old Bharat Kothari of Newark ran into a gas line at a home in Green Valley on Monday afternoon. The collision sparked a fire that engulfed the home and spread to attached town homes.

Police say drugs and alcohol were not factors. They cited Kothari with inattentive driving.

There were no serious injuries reported. One resident of a town home was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
