BALTIMORE (AP) - A Maryland airport is now a location where travelers can apply for a program that grants them expedited screening at airports.

Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein says that Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has opened a TSA PreCheck application center.

PreCheck allows travelers enrolled in the program to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt and keep their laptop in its case and small liquids in a carry-on bag.

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents can apply, must pay an $85 fee and undergo a background check before being approved.

The PreCheck application center is located on the lower level in Terminal E between entrance doors 15 and 16.
