NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Authorities believe a passing train killed a man found on an Amtrak rail line in Delaware.

Newark police Lt. Fred Nelson says the body was found Wednesday at around 9:30 a.m. at Farm Lane and South Chapel Street. The person's identity has not been released.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports an initial investigation led police to believe the person was killed by the train, so the case was given to Amtrak police.

Amtrak police couldn't be reached for a comment.
