DELAWARE CITY, Del. (AP) - The American Birding Association says it will move its North American headquarters to Delaware City from Colorado next year.

The group, which caters to recreational birders, made the announcement with Gov. Jack Markell Thursday in Delaware City. The association will move into the historic Central Hotel, which is undergoing renovations.

The Central Hotel was originally built in 1830 as a combined dwelling and grain storehouse to serve the wharfs along the new canal.

The American Birding Association is currently headquartered in Colorado Springs.
