DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover-area lawmakers have introduced a bill to revise state liquor laws in order to make it easier to hold big entertainment events such as last summer's Firefly music festival.
The bill introduced Thursday would exempt such events from a law that prohibits the holder of a license to sell alcohol that hosts such an event on its property from sharing profits of alcohol sales with the event promoter.
Supporters say removal of the prohibition is designed to attract large events from other states where such revenue sharing is common.
Organizers of Firefly Music Festival already have said the three-day event would return to Dover this June after last year's successful inaugural event near Dover Downs.
