WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - State officials are launching a new campaign aimed at reducing underage and binge drinking in Delaware.

Gov. Jack Markell and first lady Carla Markell planned to join public health officials and educators at Concord High School in Wilmington on Thursday for the launch of the campaign, which is aimed at young people from ages 12 to 25.

The new campaign is an extension of an existing program targeting underage drinking but will feature separate messaging for prevention.

SOUTH BETHANY, Del. (AP) - The government of a Delaware beach town is warning homeowners that they can face penalties if underage drinking or other offenses occur inside their homes.

South Bethany was the site of a party for graduating high school seniors that Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler briefly visited last summer. After a photo of Gansler at the party was published by The Baltimore Sun, Gansler said he should have done more to determine whether underage drinking was going on.
