Maryland Officials Warn of Flooding, Downed Trees and Lots of Rain

BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland officials are urging travelers to watch out for the possibility of flooding across the state in coming days.

State Highway Administrator Melinda Peters said Tuesday that Maryland may be in the path of several storms that have already caused damage in other states, so officials are tracking the storms carefully. The National Weather Service is forecasting the potential for flooding throughout the state.

Storms Down Power Lines, More Expected This Afternoon


WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Storms downed trees and utility wires and left thousands in the dark in Delaware and Maryland last night.

More than 1,100 Delmarva Power customers remain without power in New Castle County, Del., and Cecil County, Md., on Tuesday morning after storms blew through the region Monday. Baltimore Gas & Electric is reporting about 1,000 customers without power throughout central Maryland.
