WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - People who travel on Delaware's Route 1 between U.S. 13 and Pole Bridge Road will have to start looking for an alternative route.

The Wilmington News Journal reported Sunday that the ongoing U.S. 301 Mainline Project is to blame. Parts of the new U.S. 301 bridge over Route 1 are scheduled be installed.

Lane closures will start 9 p.m. Monday and run through Dec. 6. Some of the lane closures are partial.

Motorists may soon see some road closure signs in the town of Berlin.

Part of Main Street between Old Ocean City Boulevard or Route 346 and Route 50 will be shut down to through traffic between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. over a number of weeks.

It’s the result of a sewage repair project which is now in its preliminary assessment stage.

A hard start has yet to be determined.

Local residents on Main Street will still be allowed to get to their homes during construction.

I-95 from the south end of Brandywine Bridge to the Concord Pike exit will only allow one lane to pass from midnight to 5 a.m. through midweek.

The Concord Exit will be open to traffic during construction.

The Delaware Department of Transportation says its crews will be out paving the road that drivers should expect delays.
