Maryland Attoney General Asks for Stay of Ruling Overturning State Gun Law

 

            Maryland Attorney General Doug Ganlser is asking a federal judge to keep the state’s gun law in effect while his office appeals the court’s decision that found the measure unconstitutional.

            This week Judge Benson Everett Legg ruled that under the Second Amendment Maryland’s law requiring state residents to show a good and substantial reason to carry a handgun is unconstitutional.

            The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the judge said that the right to bear arms extends outside of the home.
