Brown, Hogan Win, Colburn Out

BALTIMORE (AP) - Democratic Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown will face Republican Larry Hogan in Maryland governor's race in November.

With 90% of the vote counted,  brown won 51 percent in the Democratic primary to 24 percent for Attorney General Doug Gansler.

Delegate Heather Mizeur came in third with 22% of the vote.

Meanwhile, Hogan outdistanced his nearest rival by 43 percent to Harford County Executive David Craig who came in with 30 percent. Charles County businessman Charles Lollar picked up 15 pecent while Delegate Ron George received 12 percent.

Democratic Party Sponsored Debates for MD Attorney General

BALTIMORE (AP) - The three candidates vying for the Democratic nomination in the race for Maryland attorney general have agreed to face each other in two debates.

Debates

The campaigns for Delegates Aisha Braveboy and Jon Cardin and state Sen. Brian Frosh announced Monday that the candidates will participate in debates that follow a traditional format in College Park and Baltimore. The first will be held May 19 at the University of Maryland College Park and the second will be held June 9 at the University of Baltimore School of Law.

"Revenge Porn" Bill in Maryland General Assembly

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Legislators are comparing two bills that would make it a crime to take revenge on an ex-lover by posting their nude photos on the Internet - a practice known as "revenge porn."

For now, victims have no legal recourse, unless they find a way to sue for something like invasion of privacy, Del. Luiz Simmons told a House committee Tuesday. And without money to pay up front, it can be hard getting an attorney to take such a case.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Rep. Steny Hoyer and Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller are endorsing Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown in his run for governor of Maryland.

Hoyer, the second-ranking Democratic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced his endorsement along with the Senate president at an event in Waldorf on Monday, with another scheduled for Greenbelt.

Hoyer says he's proud to be partner with Brown to improve the state's economy and create jobs. He also commended Brown for his service as a colonel in the Army reserves.

Delegate Jon Cardin: Ban Cyberbullying in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Delegate Jon S. Cardin wants to make cyberbullying illegal in the state of Maryland.

Cardin will hold a news conference Wednesday to discuss cyberbullying and the impact digital harassment can have on Maryland children and families.

The Baltimore County Democrat has already introduced legislation to outlaw the practice of cyberbullying.

The bill prohibits individuals from using a computer to publicly threaten a child, post sexually explicit or private information about a child, or intentionally inflict emotional harm on a child.
