18-year old Jocori Scarborough was convicted yesterday on all five counts involving the alleged rape of a 15 year old student on the campus of Parkside High School earlier this year.

In addition to second-degree rape a Wicomico County jury convicted him of false imprisonment, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and threatening a student.

On Monday the victim, a student from Wicomico High School who took a class at Parkside High, testified that he forced her to have sex with him.

Today is the start of the trial of 18 year old Jocori Scarborough who has been charged with second-degree rape among other counts for allegedly assaulting a Parkside High School student last May.

The state has said it will introduce DNA evidence into the case along with a recovered handgun.

Scarborough is also charged with possession of a regulated firearm under the age of 21.

The case remains in Wicomico County Circuit Court despite defense efforts in late August to get the trial moved to a different jurisdiction because of the extensive media coverage.


A bond has been set again for 17-year old Jocori Scarborough who is charged with the alleged rape of a fellow 15 year old student at the Parkside High School.

Now it is higher at $250-thousand.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that if released he will be required to stay at his home in Delmar and can only leave to meet with his defense counsel.

In addition, Scarborough will not be allowed on the Parkside High campus or have any contact with the alleged victim.

The alleged rape is to have occurred in the hallway of the school on May 5th. 


The charges against 17-year old Jocori Scarborough have been reduced in the alleged rape of a fellow female 15 year old student at Parkside High School.

He now faces second degree rape, false imprisonment and second degree assault as well as possession of a fire arm by a minor among other charges.  

The first degree charges of rape, assault and kidnapping have been dropped.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matt Maciarello said those counts were dropped after reviewing the case.


The Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s office will not have a prosecutor present for all bond review hearings after the recent release of Jocori Scarborough who is facing charges in connection with the Parkside High School rape case involving a 15 year old fellow female student.

In addition, the court will provide information about the dates and details of the defendant’s cases.

Initially Scarborough was released on $100-thousand bond but the judge revoked his bail after discovering that he was also facing a charge of weapons possession by a minor.


Bond has been revoked for Jocori Scarborough the 17 year old who is charged with raping a 15 year old fellow student at Parkside High School.

He was taken into custody yesterday after Judge Daniel Mumford said he had just become aware of separate weapons possession charges by prosecutors against the teenager.

Scarborough was originally out on a $100-thousand bond stemming from the rape case.

In addition, he was also out on a $50-thousand bond for the weapons charges.


The student suspected in the rape of a 15 year old female student at Parkside High School in Salisbury now faces a gun possession charge.

17-year old Jocori Scarborough is charged with possessing a firearm by a minor.

It comes in connection with evidence found during a search conducted at his home in Delmar.

The Salisbury Daily Times now reports that Scarborough was taken into custody yesterday and was held on $50-thousand bond.

Authorities say a school surveillance camera caught a 17 year old rape suspect grabbing a 15 year old female student in a hall at Parkside High School in Salisbury on Monday.

Sgt. David Owens with the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation says the suspect then forced the victim into an area that was not under surveillance and where he allegedly raped the young woman. 

Jocori Scarborough has been charged with first degree rape and assault among other charges…and is currently out on a $100-thousand bail.

17-year old Jocori Scarborough is out on bail after being charged with rape and assault counts involving a 15-year old student on the campus of Parkside High School in Salisbury.

Scarborough also a student at the school is being charged as an adult.

WBOC reports that he was released yesterday on a $100-thousand bond.  

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s office says that the incident occurred on Monday at around 8 a.m after classes had already gotten underway.
