WASHINGTON (AP) - Motorists in Maryland are paying 5 cents less at the pump when compared with a week ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Friday in a report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Maryland was $2.50, down from $2.55 a week ago.

The price of gas in the state is 13 cents below the national average of $2.63.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $2.47 in Baltimore, $2.49 in Cumberland, $2.59 in Hagerstown and $2.34 in Salisbury.

More motorists are expected to hit the roads this July 4th holiday.

Triple AAA Mid-Atlantic says in Delaware 97-thousand are expected to be on the highways out of 112-thousand expected to be traveling this year.

That’s up .9 percent over last year.

Meanwhile, in Maryland 870-thousand residents are expected to be traveling with 754-thousand hitting the roadways.

That’s an increase of 2.3 percent over last year.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Sunday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Delaware was $2.60. That's compared to $2.47 a week ago.
 
Motorists in the region are paying $1.06 less per gallon than a year ago. At this time last year Delaware drivers were paying $3.66 per gallon.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Sunday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Delaware was $2.25. That's compared to $2.28 a week ago.

Motorists in the region are paying $1.25 less per gallon than a year ago. At this time last year Delaware drivers were paying $3.50 per gallon.

The price of gas in the state is 17 cents below the national average of $2.42 per gallon.

WASHINGTON (AP) - AAA Mid-Atlantic say gasoline prices continue to rise and will likely continue to increase this month.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded reached $2.46 in Maryland on Friday. In the District of Columbia, the average price Sunday was $2.54. In Delaware, the average price was $2.39 per gallon on Sunday.

The national average price on Friday was $2.46 per gallon. That's 29 cents more than a month ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Saturday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Maryland was $2.36, up from $2.31 a week ago.

The price of gas in the state is a penny below the national average of $2.37.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $2.36 in Baltimore, $2.38 in Cumberland, $2.37 in Hagerstown and $2.35 in Salisbury.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The auto club says the average price of a gallon of gas has dipped below the $2 mark.

The AAA Mid-Atlantic reported Monday the $1.99 price of a gallon of unleaded gas is the lowest pump price in the state since May 2009. The Triple A says 24 other states are reporting sub-$2 fuel prices, with more expected to join.

The auto club says average fuel prices around the state range from $1.91 in the Richmond area to $2.01 in Norfolk. Nationally, motorists are paying $2.06 cents for a gallon of unleaded.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Sunday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Delaware was $2.29. That's compared to $2.38 a week ago.            

Motorists in the region are paying $1.14 less per gallon than a year ago. At this time last year Delaware drivers were paying $3.43 per gallon.  

The price of gas in the state is 15 cents higher than the national average of $2.14 per gallon.

The price of gas in the state is 18 cents more than the national average of $2.23.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $2.38 in Baltimore, $2.46 in Cumberland, $2.47 in Hagerstown and $2.43 in Salisbury.

Motorists in the state are paying $1.06 less per gallon than at this time last year when the average price of a gallon of regular gas was $3.47 per gallon.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Maryland was $2.58, down from $2.68 a week ago.          

The price of gas in the state is 13 cents more than the national average of $2.45.       

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $2.57 in Baltimore, $2.65 in Cumberland, $2.64 in Hagerstown and $2.58 in Salisbury.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - AAA Mid-Atlantic says Virginia gas prices have fallen more than $1 since the April 2014 spring peak of $3.52 per gallon.

And the auto group says that some areas of the state could see prices fall to less than $2 per gallon around the end of the year.

Gas prices historically declines from fall into winter due to a number of factors including decreased demand.

Prices in Virginia have dropped about 20 cents per month on average, bringing them to the lowest levels in four years.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia roads could be a little more crowded this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

AAA Mid-Atlantic projects that 1.3 million Virginians will travel 50 miles or more from home over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The auto club says that's an increase of 3.4 percent from last year.

The holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 30.

Nationally, AAA projects 46.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving weekend, the highest volume for the holiday since 2007.

Gas prices look good for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says that a gallon of gas is averaging $2.85 in Delaware today.

That’s compared to a year ago when it was $3.28 a gallon.

In the First State an estimated 126-thousand people will be traveling 50 miles or more.

That’s up by 4 percent from last year.

And AAA says that 90 percent of them are expected to be on the roads.

Another 7 percent will be flying.

With the summer over there’s good news on gas front.

The price of a gallon of gas has dropped below the $3 mark at some Lower Shore gas stations.

Over the last month the price of a gallon of gas has declined by 21 cents.

If the trend continues it could find gas prices 40 cents lower.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that there has been a sell-off of crude oil which is expected to push down the November delivery wholesale prices in the U.S.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the decline is usual for this time of year with the transition to cooler weather.

BALTIMORE (AP) - AAA Mid-Atlantic says gasoline prices this week have dropped to new lows for 2014.

AAA says the national average price for a gallon of unleaded dropped to $3.24 Friday. That's down 8 cents from a week ago.

In Maryland, the average price for a gallon of unleaded was $3.23. That's the lowest average price since November 2013. Prices were lower in Salisbury and Baltimore and slightly higher in the Washington suburbs and western Maryland.

In Delaware, the average price Friday was about $3.10 per gallon. That's down nearly 15 cents from last week.

Motorists in the region are paying 16 cents less than a year ago. At this time last year Delaware drivers were paying $3.45 per gallon.

The price of gas in the state is 5 cents less than the national average of $3.34 per gallon.

WASHINGTON (AP) - AAA Mid-Atlantic says the civil war in Iraq is pushing up gasoline prices in the United States.

In Maryland, AAA says gas prices are up 4 cents this week to an average of $3.67 per gallon. Prices are highest in the Washington suburbs and western Maryland.

In Delaware, AAA says gas prices have risen 7 cents over the past week to about $3.68 per gallon.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Motorists in Maryland are paying the same price at the pump as a week ago but eight cents more when compared with last month.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Friday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Maryland was $3.67, the same as a week ago. A month ago, however, motorists were paying $3.59 to fill up in Maryland.

Motorists in the region are also paying 22 cents more than at this time last year when the price of gas was $3.45 per gallon.

Expect gas prices to rise.

That’s the word of Triple A Mid-Atlantic as many refineries prepare for seasonal maintenance and the change over to more expensive summer blends.

Last week Delaware motorists saw the price of a gallon of unleaded regular fall 2 cents to a statewide average of $3.33.

But the price stability for a gallon of gas says the motoring group is expected end.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Sunday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Delaware was $3.35. That's compared to $3.42 a week ago.

Motorists in the region are paying about the same as a year ago. At this time last year Delaware drivers were paying $3.36 per gallon.

The price of gas in the region is six cents more than the national average of $3.29 per gallon.

Expect rain and more rain today with wind advisories for Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware and gusts of up to 50 mph.

Forecasters expect up to four inches of rain in the region with street flooding possible in northern Delaware and minor coastal flooding this morning’s high tide along the Upper Bay the Delaware Bay and the tidal Delaware river.

There are reports of moderate flooding along the Christina River at Cooch's Bridge in New Castle County, Del. The river was forecast to crest Wednesday morning near 11.9 feet. That's 1.4 feet above flood stage.

Gas prices could fall below $3.00 a gallon by Christmas for unleaded in Delaware says Jim Lardear with Triple AAA Mid-Altantic.

He noted that it has not been below that since December of 2010.

Currently the average price of a gallon of gas in Delaware is $3.20 per gallon in Delaware.

That’s down from an average price of $3.64 a gallon in February.

Lardear told the Wilmington News Journal that there are six states where the price has already fallen below the $3.00 mark.

It’s good news at the pump for motorists in Delaware when AAA Mid-Atlantic reports that the price for a gallon of unleaded regular fell 3 cents last week.

That brought the state wife average down to $3.29.

The group’s Jana Tidwell says that barring a hurricane or some other disruption prices could fall to as low as $3.10 a gallon by Christmas.

Nationally, the price for a gallon of gas has reached its lowest level since February 2011.

Gas prices continue to decline.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said that Delaware drivers saw the price of unleaded regular at the pump fall by a nickel last week to $3.32 a gallon.

This is the lowest price in 8 months.

Meanwhile, in Maryland the average price for gas last Friday was $3.33 a gallon.

It was even less in Salisbury at an average of $3.18 a gallon.

Prices were higher near the nation’s capital and in Western Maryland.

Delaware motorists saw the price for a gallon of gas decline by 5 cents by week’s end coming in at $3.52 a gallon by Saturday.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Gas prices have been declining over the past week after increasing steadily earlier in July.

In a weekly report Sunday on the price of gas, AAA Mid-Atlantic says the national average dropped to $3.65 per gallon on Friday. That's a 2.5-cent drop in the past week.

But the cost is still 11 cents more expensive than a month ago and 16 cents more expensive than a year ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic spokesman John Townsend says the decline in gas prices over the past seven days offers motorists a small sign of relief ahead of August vacations.
