Delaware Republicans want the Attorney General Beau Biden to provide the details of a more than two-year independent investigation into campaign finance violations.

The probe by special prosecutor E. Norman Veasey found improper campaign contributions to Governor Jack Markell in 2008.

In addition, the investigation found violations by three state lawmakers for failing to report getting gifts of more than $250 as required by law.

Delaware state prosecutor E. Norman Veasey is investigating campaign donations by Michael Zimmerman even as the Dover developer faces bank fraud charges by federal officials.

Veasy says he is trying to figure out whether Zimmerman attempted to circumvent legal campaign contribution limits.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that state records show the real estate developer, his relatives, his companies and his business partners contributed a total of $14,600 to Governor Jack Markell’s campaign in October 2008.
