DOVER, Del. (AP) - A helpline is now available for more than 250,000 users of a state job-seeker database who may be impacted by a data breach.

The Department of Labor announced Tuesday that a call center has been set up to help Delaware Job Link users whose personal information may have been part of a data breach of the American JobLink Alliance's website.

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials say more than 200,000 Delaware residents have been put at risk of identity theft following a breach of a state Labor Department job-seeker database earlier this month.

Delaware Department of Labor Secretary Patrice Gilliam Johnson said Wednesday that the attack occurred after a hacker created a job-seeker account in the Delaware JobLink database and then exploited a vulnerability in the system.

The database connects job seekers with employers and contains information from about 253,000 people in the state.

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Officials with Frederick County Public Schools say about 1,000 former students are affected by a pre-2010 data breach that was discovered in September.

Schools spokesman Michael Raymond Doerrer said in an email Tuesday that students who attended county public schools between November 2005 and November 2006 were affected. He says the data includes names, Social Security number, and date of birth.

The breach was brought to the school system's attention by a former student who found his data on a website.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - State auditors say sensitive data in computers at the University of Maryland-College Park remains vulnerable to hackers five years after administrators were told about security flaws.

The university said Thursday that the shortcomings identified in a 2009 audit weren't related to a data breach in February involving the records of about 288,000 students, faculty and staff members.

Officials say there has been a data breach at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry that could put customers’ credit and debit card information at risk.

Cards used between September 20, 2013 through August 7th of this year for food, beverage and retail sales on the ferries and at the terminals could be affected.

A statement from officials says that the malware used in the breach has been eliminated and that payment security has been improved.

The information in question includes the card number, the cardholder’s name and or the card’s expiration date.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - The president of the University of Maryland says more a computer security attack breached a database that contains personal information about more than 300,000 faculty, staff, students and others.

Wallace Loh said in a statement posted Wednesday on the university's website that the database contained records of those have been issued a university ID since 1998.

Loh said the database has information from the College Park and Shady Grove campuses. The records include name, Social Security number, date of birth and university identification number.
