QUANTICO, Va. (AP) - Authorities have launched a search for two men after their boat capsized in the Potomac River in northern Virginia.

Coast Guard officials say a tugboat crew saw the boat capsize Sunday about a mile south of Leesylvania State Park but could not locate the men by the time they got to the area where the boat capsized.

Five people have been rescued off Cape Charles in Northampton County.

The Coast Guard picked them via helicopter after their fishing vessel sank in rough waters yesterday.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that two crew members were found in a life raft while three others were holding on to a piece of the wreckage.

The vessel sank about 60 miles off east of Cape Charles.

They were taken to Base Elizabeth City where they were seen by medical personnel.

The waterman still missing from yesterday off Tangier Island has been identified as Ed Charnock.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that his brother-in-law Dan Harrison confirmed Charnock and his son Jason were out on their vessel the Henrietta C.

The U.S. Coast Guard had not released the names as of this morning.

The incident began with a report to the Coast Guard that the 40-foot crabbing vessel was taking on water yesterday afternoon.

Both went overboard without life vests and Jason was picked up by a nearby boat.

A man was medevaced from the Carnival Pride cruise ship near Virginia Beach.

Saturday evening the Coast Guard got a report that a 58-year old passenger had suffered a heart attack.

WBOC reports that a Jayhawk helicopter was dispatched from Air Station Elizabeth City in North Carolina and picked up the passenger near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The television station reports that the passenger is recovering.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) - A Coast Guard helicopter crew has conducted a medical evacuation off the coast of Virginia after receiving an emergency alert from a fishing vessel.

Authorities say the Fifth District command center in Portsmouth received an electronic beacon alert Sunday from the 75-foot trawler Capt Nathan, about 50 miles east of Chincoteague, with three people aboard.

Two boaters were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard yesterday morning when they ran aground on an island of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

The Coast Guard picked up the two leaving the boat behind in the face of deteriorating weather conditions.

There were no reports of injuries.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports there is a small craft advisory around the bridge until 1 p.m. with waves as high as 3 to 5 feet.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Authorities in Maryland say everyone is accounted for after 16 sailboats overturned during part of a sailing event in the Severn River off Annapolis.

The Maryland Natural Resources Police say 22 people ranging in age from 16 to 70 were pulled from the water and that everyone was unharmed and accounted for.

Officials said the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when the boats encountered strong gusts of wind and the water turned rough.

BALTIMORE (AP) - Spirit Cruises says the captain of a cruise ship that crashed into a dock in Baltimore has been suspended from duty.

The Spirit of Baltimore was returning from a cruise when it ran into a dock early Sunday morning. A statement released by Spirit Cruises says two of the 412 passengers on board suffered minor injuries. They were taken to a hospital and have since been released.

The dock was damaged and two small boats were scratched by the bigger ship.

BALTIMORE (AP) - The Coast Guard says a passenger ship with nearly 450 people on board hit a pier in Baltimore.

The Coast Guard says the Spirit of Baltimore struck the pier at Henderson Wharf Marina early Sunday morning. It says there were 447 people on board at the time and no injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard says 60-feet of the pier was damaged. The ship's hull also suffered some damage.

The Coast Guard says the incident remains under investigation.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Several agencies are searching for a man who went missing in the water near Virginia Beach.

Media outlets report that a 25-year-old white man fell off a tube while riding behind a boat Thursday evening near Little Creek Channel. Police say the tube has been recovered.

The man wasn't wearing a life jacket. He was last seen in a white and blue bathing suit.

The Coast Guard, Virginia Marine Police, Virginia Beach Fire Department and other agencies are searching for the man.
