Harris Backs Attacks on Eastern Shore Democrats

Congressman Andy Harris is making a big financial contribution to attacks on Eastern Shore Democrats seeking reelection to the state legislature.

The television ad takes aim at state Senator Jim Mathias and Delegate Norm Conway tying them to President Obama and calling them “tax-and-spend peas in a giant liberal pod.”

It adds, “That’s not what the Shore needs.”

Democrats Begin Campaign Ads for Governor of Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Two Maryland Democratic candidates for governor are releasing their first television ads of the campaign.

Both Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Attorney General Doug Gansler announced their plans Wednesday.

Brown's first commercial is a 60-second spot that highlights his military service. Brown was deployed to Iraq while he was a member of the House of Delegates at the age of 43.

Delaware Tightening Rules for Independent Campaign Ads

 

DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state House has passed two bills reforming Delaware's campaign finance laws.

One bill approved on a party-line vote Tuesday in the Democrat-led House requires third-party groups to disclose the source of funding for independent campaign ads that refer to clearly identified candidates, even if the ads don't urge a vote for or against any candidate. Under current law, third parties who buy independent campaign ads must file disclosures only if the ads expressly advocate for the election or defeat of a specific candidate.

Delaware Considers Reforming Third Party Campaign Ad Laws

 

DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state House is poised to consider two bills reforming Delaware's campaign finance laws.
