BALTIMORE (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton will be visiting Maryland this week for two events.

Clinton will give opening remarks and moderate a panel at an opioid summit Monday at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore.

Then, The Baltimore Sun reports he is scheduled to attend an event at the Sollers Point Library in Dundalk.

Clinton's schedule posted on the Clinton Foundation website indicates he will be helping dedicate the installation of educational panels related to an early childhood development campaign.

Governor Jack Markell is getting into presidential campaign mode.

The Delaware Democrat will be in Ohio to stump for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton tomorrow.

Markell and top Democrats endorsed Clinton early in the primary season as she faced off against Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt).

The Wilmington News Journal reports that he was on hand in April to introduce her during a campaign stop in Wilmington.

BALTIMORE (AP) - First lady Michelle Obama is planning to campaign for Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown in the Maryland governor's race.

Obama is scheduled to attend a rally in Baltimore on Monday at the War Memorial Building.

Rep. Elijah Cummings also is scheduled to attend the rally, which comes a day before Election Day.

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is coming back to Maryland to campaign for Larry Hogan in his bid for governor.

Christie, who is chairman of the Republican Governors Association, is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Glen Burnie on Tuesday at the Honey Bee Diner.

It will be the third campaign stop in Maryland by Christie for Hogan, who is running against Democratic Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown.

The visit comes a week before Election Day.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton is taking his wife's place at a fundraiser for Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown.

In a statement Tuesday, Brown says he respects Hillary Rodham Clinton's decision to cancel her appearance at his fundraiser to spend time with her daughter and new granddaughter, born Friday night. Brown also says he's grateful that Bill Clinton is changing his schedule to travel to Potomac for the event.

Former President Bill Clinton will come to Wilmignton next month for a conference on Africa.

“The Opportunity: Africa” event has been hosted by Senator Chris Coons for the last two years.

Clinton’s foundation invests in Africa and he will be the key note speaker at the March 10th event at the Chase Center.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the conference connects businesses, faith communities and individuals with top experts on Africa.
