The Cleveland Orchestra
Wednesday Evening at 7PM (seasonal)

The Cleveland Orchestra’s radio broadcasting history dates back nearly to its founding in 1918.   These broadcasts were heard each week by people as far away as Maine, Florida, Minnesota, and Canada.  In fact, Cleveland was somewhat of a broadcast pioneer — it was only the third orchestra to broadcast its concerts, having been preceded by the Detroit Symphony and the New York Philharmonic, both of which had begun their concert broadcasts earlier in 1922.  Since 1965, the Orchestra’s broadcasts are syndicated around the world through the local radio station WCLV 104.9.
