BRIDGEVILLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say someone shot out a window at a Sussex County home where a man was killed earlier in the day.

Police said in a news release that a woman called 911 on Thursday night after hearing gunfire outside.

Police say a window in a front bedroom was shot out, but no one was in the room at the time and no one was injured. The incident is being investigated by the homicide unit since a man was killed there earlier in the day.

Police say troopers called to the home early Thursday for a report of people breaking in and shots fired found 35-year-old James Dickerson in the kitchen with a gunshot wound to the head. Dickerson was pronounced dead at the home.
