Wind and Snow Across Delmarva

all-free-download

Strong winds swept across Delmarva yesterday with some gusts of up to 50 mph along with a couple of inches of snow in in Hockessin and Greenville.

The winds took their toll on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel when a tractor-trailer plummeted into the cold waters below.

The driver 47 year-old Joseph Chen from North Carolina was rescued but later died.

In northern Delaware there were gusts of up to 40 mph in the Delaware Bay with traces of snow along the coast.

Dover and Lewes also saw some snow but there was little accumulation.

New Castle and Cecil counties got the most snow – from 1 to 2 inches.

Most of the schools in northern Delaware were closed for the day but businesses and government offices were open.
