Wilmington Protest Over Police Shooting of Man in Wheel Chair

YouTube

There were protesters out in Wilmington’s business section blocking roadways during the lunch yesterday.

They were protesting the fatal police shooting of Jeremy McDole and the failure to bring criminal action against the officers.

There were around 30 in all who shouted “No Justice, No Peace” as they made their way down Fourth Street.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the family has called on Mayor Dennis Williams, Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn and the city police Chief Bobby Cummings to step down.

28 year old McDole was sitting in a wheel chair when he was ordered by police to drop a weapon in September of last year.

When he failed to do so police opened fire.

The paper reports that the family claims that the police planted the gun by McDole’s side.
