Wife Makes Bid To Take Over Delaware House Seat From Husband

In a Delaware state House race a husband is leaving while his wife makes a bid to fill the seat in this year’s election.

Brad Bennett decided not to run again after he was arrested a second time for drunk driving.

But his spouse Andria Bennett filed papers yesterday to take his place.

She will face retired Dover city Council member William McGlumphy.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Andria Bennett is also the daughter of Newark-area state Representative John Viola and serves as a legislative aide to two state Senate Democrats.

The paper said Andria Bennett could not be reached for comment but issued a statement that said she had dedicated her life to help those in need to better their lives and to aid those seeking employment opportunities.
