Wicomico County Taxi Driver Shot in Robbery

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says a taxi driver was shot in the leg during a robbery in Salisbury.

It happened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Patrick and Keene avenues. Deputies say the driver had picked up three people and took them to their destination. The driver was then robbed of his tablet, cell phone and cash.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that after the three ran from the cab, the driver followed the suspects in his taxi. One of the suspects fired two shots at the cab, and one shot pierced the driver's side door.

The driver suffered a graze wound to his lower leg.

Deputies say the driver did not require treatment.
