Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis says if he knew the video would be posted on the internet he might not have done it.
The video in question features Lewis and a deputy dressed in full uniform using sheriff’s office cars and discussing how and when Marylanders can openly carry some weapons.
Lewis told the Salisbury Daily Times that he thought he was doing an educational video for legislators in Annapolis.
One of the more conservative Delegates in the Maryland General Assembly Mike Smigiel organized the 5-minute video which was posted on YouTube by Tom Locastro who calls himself James Madison on line.
So far, it has gotten 13-thousand viewings.
