The Maryland State police are investigating Wicomico County Council member Bob Culver after his mother filed a protection order last week.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the State police confirmed that there is an investigation but declined to comment further.
The Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office says that the investigation is being carried out by the State Police from the Princess Anne barrack because Culver is an elected official.
As of Monday no criminal charges had been filed against Culver who told the paper that he has done nothing wrong.
He said he was cooperating and denied any allegation that had been made.
