W. Salisbury Elementary School Sees Another Dispute

Don Rush

There’s a sharp disagreement again over the fate of the West Salisbury Elementary School.

The Wicomico County Board of Education wants to expand the number of students from 350 to 650 and to include Pre-K through fifth grade.

Currently, he school only goes up to second grade.

This comes after the school board successfully pushed for build a new facility rather than renovate the old structure.

But, the Salisbury Daily Times reports that Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver, who initially opposed building a new facility, now says that he opposes expansion of the school.

He adds that he is in favor of improving the schools but does not believe that the new plan has been vetted yet.
