ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Gov. Terry McAuliffe is set to host an event for the United Negro College Fund.

The fund's Washington-area office is holding the Virginia Governor's Luncheon on Tuesday in Arlington for business, civil and education leaders.

The goal of the luncheon is to increase diversity in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

The UNCF says it is reaching out to the Northern Virginia business community to stress the need for increased diversity in growing industries such as health care, financial services and information technology.

The UNCF supports 37 historically black colleges and universities and awards more than 10,000 scholarships each year to students.
