RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe says he's approved a $1 million grant to a large accounting firm that plans to expand in Northern Virginia.

McAuliffe announced Thursday that Grant Thornton had decided to consolidate its offices and add 348 new jobs in Arlington County.

Besides the $1 million grant from the Commonwealth's Opportunity Fund, the company will also be eligible from state assistance in the form of the Virginia Jobs Investment Program and Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit.

The governor's office said state assistance will also help keep nearly 1,000 jobs in Virginia.
