Delegate Lynwood Lewis has won the Democratic nomination for the Virginia state Senate district which represents the Eastern Shore including Accomack and Northampton Counties.
He replaces Ralph Northam who won the Lt. Governor’s race this month.
The Eastern Shore Democrat reportedly won 55 percent of the votes cast on Saturday in the 6th Senate District nominating caucus.
Governor Bob McDonnell will schedule a special election for the district.
