The USSSA Fastpitch World Series got underway last night with hundreds gathered in front of the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that teams from across the country paraded around the arena with their banners, flags and uniforms.
It’s the 11th year in Wicomico County for the three-week tournament.
There will be around 400 teams this year with some 6-thousand players.
And they will out under the sun this morning to kick off the series.
