UItrasound Abortion Bill in Delaware State Legislature

official photo

There’s an effort in the Delaware legislature to require doctors to provide but not necessarily perform ultrasounds before an abortion is performed.

WBOC reports that the measure is sponsored by State Senator Bryant Richardson (R-Seaford) who says it is an effort to provide women with information about their choice.

If doctors do not offer the ultrasound they would face a civil or criminal penalty.

The measure comes just as state lawmakers are to consider a ban ono abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
