PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say they've rescued two women being held against their will for prostitution on the Eastern Shore.

Police said Monday that the Maryland women are 20 and 25 years old, and that one of them sent a text message Sunday to her family for help. They called police.

Police found the women at a hotel in Princess Anne, in Somerset County. They arrested 33-year-old Travon Anthony of Leymoyne, Pennsylvania and 23-year-old Kyree Tatem of Delmar, Maryland on charges of human trafficking, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. It's unclear if they have attorneys.

The women told police that they initially agreed to have Anthony arrange clients for them but that he beat one of them on Sunday and threatened to kill her. Police say the woman feared for their lives.
