NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Emergency crews say two people have been rescued after the boat they were in capsized in the Delaware River near New Castle's Battery Park.

New Castle County Paramedics spokesman Cpl. David McKinney says a 58-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were pulled to safety just off the New Castle City Pier on Tuesday after their sailboat overturned, leaving them in the water for more than 20 minutes.

McKinney says both were wearing life vests.

He says the man and the woman were treated on the scene for hypothermia, but declined to be taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Delaware City firefighters brought the capsized boat back to shore.
