NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Two people have been rescued after their sailboat overturned in the Delaware River.

The Wilmington News Journalreports Goodwill Fire Company spokesman David Majewski Jr. says emergency rescue crews responded to the scene Sunday evening for reports of an overturned boat in New Castle.

Majewski says crews helped bring two members of the New Castle Sailing Club to shore. The pair was treated at the scene for injuries.

He says severe weather, including heavy rainfall and strong winds, contributed to the boat overturning.

The overturned boat was located and brought back to shore.
