CRISFIELD, Md. (AP) - The Coast Guard rescued two boaters aboard a fishing boat taking on water near the Pocomoke Sound Wildlife Management Area.

Officials say the operator of the 41-foot fishing boat Carolyn Jeanne contacted his father Wednesday when the boat began taking on water. The father went to the Coast Guard Station Crisfield and notified watch standers.

The Coast Guard says a crew responded and found the two boaters trying to get the water out of the engine room as the engine was beginning to overheat. Petty Officer 2nd Class Nicholas Hupp says two crewmembers went aboard with a pump to help and the crew then towed the boat back to Crisfield.
