Turtles Released at Assateague

creative commons

Twelve turtles found themselves on the Assateague beach yesterday as the Baltimore National Aquarium marked its 25 year anniversary of the Animal Rescue Program.

WBOC reports that there were two rehabilitated juvenile green sea turtles.

The television station reports that one turtle named Hardhead came to the Aquarium with problems that included a lung tear and broken ribs.

The other Beachcomer had a rare blood disease.

They both came to the Aquarium in 2015.

There were 10 rehabbed Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles from another aquarium and the National Marine Life Center.
