cbbt

A tractor-trailer has gone over the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel into the water this morning after hitting a light pole.

The Virginia Pilot is reporting that the Virginia Beach Fire Department Battalion said the truck went over at the 15 mile marker.

The paper says that the U.S. Coast Guard says navy divers have located one person in the water who was unresponsive.

The Navy has a helicopter at the scene along with the divers.

In addition, the paper reports the U.S. Coast Guard has a helicopter in the area along with the cutter Beluga and some small boats from Little Creek.

Only one person was believed to be inside the truck.
