MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - Two firefighters are recovering after a fire damaged five Middletown townhomes, leaving four of them uninhabitable for families.

Middletown Fire Chief Frank Bailey says the fire occurred Sunday afternoon, with the flames moving from one townhome to another.

Authorities say everyone inside the homes was able to escape before firefighters arrive. No residents were hurt, but one firefighter was burned on the neck and another suffered a medical emergency during the blaze. Bailey says both are recovering well.

Bailey says it took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish most of the blaze.

The state Fire Marshal's Office has not yet determined what caused the fire.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced families.
