Ticket Sales Involved in "I'm Shmacked" Newark Disturbance

Tickets were sold for the recent disturbance at the University of Delaware in Newark by the company that sponsors “I’m Shmacked” -- a website that videotapes college life.

The decision to sell the tickets was caught by one of the company’s founders in a social media comment before thousands of students mobbed downtown Newark.

The comment asked a question about charging $20 to an event with no venue.

The Wilmington News Journal has obtained a ticket receipt that showed the company sold tickets in advance of the visit.

The paper reports that it describes the event as one for all ages by “I’m Shmacked” and it lists the venue as “I’m Shmacked Tour bus, The state of Delaware, Newerk (sic), DE 19711.”

And the date is September 9th the day of the disturbance.

That was followed by some 3-thousand students who converged on Newark and were met by more than 75 police officers from state and county agencies.

The “I’m Shmacked” founders have said that they only made “an impromptu” stop in Delaware and did not meant to incite a disturbance.
