Three Delaware Cases Among Boy Scout Child Molestation Files

boy scouts, 123rf.com

There are three Delaware cases among the 12-hundred confidential files that the Boy Scouts kept on suspected child molesters.

The so-called “perversion files” were made public yesterday by the Oregon State Supreme Court.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that a 1980 incident involving Eric Robbins, a 23 year old assistant scoutmaster with Troop 255 in Newark, was not referred to police.

The Boy Scout’s Del-Mar-Va Council officials believed that he had been sexually involved with two young boys in the troop.

The two other cases were prosecuted.

A 1964 case involved Ortis Smith.

Ten years later there was another involving Eugene Burnett.

But, the News Journal was not able to determine by press time what the outcome of those prosecutions was.
