Third Suspect Caught in Wilmington Police Shooting

Wilmington Police caught a third suspect in the weekend shooting of Patrolman Justin Wilkers

The Wilmington News Journal reports that authorities did not provide any further details about his identity.

21 year old Ronald Boyce and 20 year old Jared Wiggins were picked up on Sunday and have been charged.

The Associated Press describes Wiggins as the alleged driver of the suspect vehicle and has been charged with failing to obey a a police signal resisting arrest and providing a false statement.

The news agency reports that Boyce has been charged with resisting arrest.

Meanwhile, the 34 year old Wilkers is set to undergo surgery today after being shot in the face on Sunday.

A bullet is lodged in the lower part of his skull.

His stepfather Rick Shea said that surgeons will work on his jaw and clear fragments from around his ear but will not take out the bullet today.
